View the Moon for the Lunar New Year!
Jan 30
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

On Thursday, Jan. 30 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM on the 3rd level parking deck fronting Longs Drugs, experience an up-close look at the Moon for the Lunar New Year, with astronomer, Nick Bradley of Stargazers of Hawaii. Guests are invited to take a photo of the moon with their own mobile device, through the giant 7ft. telescope.

The lunar calendar is very important in China, even though it has officially moved to the Gregorian calendar. The Lunar New Year is the beginning of a calendar year, whose months are cycles of the moon. It celebrates the celestial journey of the sun and the moon toward another year.

Nick Bradley has over 20+ years of astronomy and stargazing experience with the public. Last year he was featured on KITV news in January during the Blood Super Moon Lunar Eclipse.  He has worked on stargazing shows for Aulani, Four Seasons Resort and Marriott Hotels at Ko Olina.
