***Event is Postponed!*** View the Moon for the Lunar New Year!
Jan 28
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

“Due to possible inclement weather conditions and flood warnings predicted for this evening, we apologize but unfortunately, we have to postpone our “View the Moon” event that was scheduled for tonight at 6:30PM. Stay tuned for a new date/time and stay safe everyone. Mahalo for your understanding! ~ Kahala Mall”

On Saturday, Jan. 28 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM on the 3rd level parking deck fronting Longs Drugs, experience an up-close look at the Moon and Planet Jupiter for the Lunar New Year, with astronomer, Nick Bradley of Stargazers of Hawaii. Guests are invited to take a photo of the moon with their own mobile device, through their giant 7ft. telescopes.

As our guest, we also invite you to enjoy a hot chocolate from the Kalele Eats cart set-up on the deck while viewing the night sky. (While supplies last!)

The lunar calendar is very important in China, even though it has officially moved to the Gregorian calendar. The Lunar New Year is the beginning of a calendar year, whose months are cycles of the moon. It celebrates the celestial journey of the sun and the moon toward another year.

Nick Bradley has 22+ years of astronomy and stargazing experience with the public. He has been featured on the local news during the Blood Super Moon Lunar Eclipse.  He has worked on stargazing shows for Aulani, Four Seasons Resort and Marriott Hotels at Ko Olina.
