Waiwaolani

Waiwaolani, a Maui-based apparel brand inspired by Hawaii’s native ecosystems and culture, opened its first Oahu store at Kahala Mall in a 1,138-square-foot space formerly used by Fighting Eel.

Founded in November 2021 during the pandemic this mission-driven brand celebrating Hawaii’s native plants, species, and mālama ʻāina. The name Waiwaolani combines Hawaiian words for water, mountain realm, and skies, symbolizing the connection between Hawaii’s forests, watersheds, and native life.

Founder Roselani Suyat Aiwohi hopes their locally designed clothing, in wearable breezy fabrics and design, inspires appreciation for Hawaii’s ecosystems and supports conservation efforts.

Kahala Mall was a natural choice for their first Oahu store due to its community vibe and welcoming atmosphere, according to Aiwohi. The store will help Waiwaolani reach new customers, expand across the islands, and foster community relationships while supporting the Native Hawaiian community.
